Root Media
Pot mums require well-drained, well-aerated root media, with good moisture-holding capacity and the ability to firmly anchor the root system. Pot mums are adaptable to both soil-based and soilless mixes. It is important that the root medium be free of insects, diseases and weed seeds. Soil-based mixes should be pasteurized (steamed) before use at 160°F for 30 minutes.
